Ryan’s doctoral research focused on the drivers of oak masting in the UK, with the aim that this better understanding may contribute to a more consistent acorn crop for conservation and forestry.

This work was supported by Future Trees Trust, The Patsy Wood Trust, Scottish Forestry Trust, Aitchinson Tait Trust, and Action Oak.
